BOARD MEMBER

Kate Bond serves as the Canon for Congregational Vitality in the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma.  In her role, Kate supports congregations across Oklahoma by providing resources and guidance for strategic planning, leadership development, and spiritual formation. She desires to see every congregation live into its fullness of ministry, meeting God in prayer and in their neighborhoods daily.

Before feeling a call to full-time professional lay ministry, Kate worked as an instructor of Political Science at Oklahoma City University. Kate holds a BA and MA in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma, where she taught courses in American political institutions, public policy, and research methodology.  Kate is currently completing her Doctor of Education in Ministry at Virginia Theological Seminary, focusing on Ministry Development. She serves on the board of Forward Movement and is active in her home church, Grace Church in Yukon, Oklahoma.

Kate is married to Shane, a farmer in western Oklahoma, and they have two children, Logan and Brigid. They make their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma, about an hour outside of Oklahoma City. Their family also includes Sully, a rescue Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix, and Tigger, a rambunctious cat. When Kate is not working, you can usually find her in the kitchen, reading a book, or watching a movie with her family.
