A Season of New Beginnings

“I am about to do a new thing;
   now it springs forth; do you not perceive it?” Is 43:19

By Mary C. Frances, Executive Director and Senior Consultant

After what felt like a very long winter, the season of new beginnings is here in the Midwest. Last weekend my husband and I walked our yard and saw daffodils budding, tulips springing forth and leaves sprouting from trees and shrubs. Visions of seedlings and trellises danced in our heads. Last night there were snow flurries and this morning it was 25 degrees outside. Spring is not, as we well know, a straight line.

Here at FaithX we are in a season of new beginnings as well. Earlier this year we launched our new demographic platform MissionMaps with three levels of access. This month we launched the newest version of our Congregational Vitality Assessment for both single-use and the judicatory platform. Very soon the Judicatory Vitality Assessment will be ready to go as well. And of course, for every event and new development that we have celebrated, there have been snow flurries and cold weather. In other words, product development and launch – what we fondly call new beginnings – is not a straight line. That is not to say that we have had a Spring blizzard or major storm, just that there have been some little blips along the way that keep us humble and, at the same time, working toward even bigger goals.

In the midst of these uncertain times, you might be wondering what your new beginnings look like. Is it time to hunker down and wait until the Spring storms have passed or do you follow the example of Mother Nature and plunge forward regardless of shifting weather patterns – or maybe a little bit of both? Our new and updated tools are here to help you discern the next right steps for your congregation whether you are doing strategic planning, working through a pastoral transition or just trying to engage your community more deeply. We have come through a few blips (oh yes, we know there will always be more blips) and are ready to help you engage your new beginnings. Questions? Contact us at info@faithx.net
