Introducing CVA 3.0

By Mary C. Frances, Executive Director

When I was a teenager, I was always excited to get the latest issue of Glamour magazine. I would pour over the pictures, read every article, devour the Sticky Situation of the Month advice and take every quiz imaginable. Each issue had some kind of quiz or survey to help me decide what was my style or the shape of my face or the perfect man for me. I suppose my penchant for quizzes is part of what makes me such a fan of the Congregational Vitality Assessment.

As Ken Howard mentioned in the blog post last week, the CVA has been under construction. This rebuilding effort has asked much of the three of us here at FaithX as we ventured into the unknown world of product and software development. Even if those terms were available when I was a teenager, I could safely say that the outcome of the quiz regarding my future career would not have pointed to these skills. But we are adventurous and willing to grow and try new things. More importantly, we have a deep work ethic that won’t allow us to offer anything less than the best to our clients and so…. (drumroll please) we are excited to share that CVA 3.0 will be available to you and your congregations very soon.

What makes CVA 3.0 unique? We have a new web platform that will make it easier for you to register, share links, get results and analytics. Every congregation that takes the CVA will have a dashboard they can return to time and again to review their results and, once a congregation takes the CVA a second time, results compare as well. All of this is available to congregations for a nominal fee. While the platform is new and improved, the assessment remains the only fully researched online congregational vitality assessment offering congregations the opportunity to hold up a mirror around key vitality and sustainability behaviors and beliefs.

We also continue to offer the CVA-JP, Congregational Vitality Assessment-Judicatory Platform, so that judicatories can invite their congregations to take the assessment, have all the data for all congregations in one place, run analytics and reports. We anticipate the CVA-JP will be online in the next month.

The Judicatory Vitality Assessment (JVA) is the only assessment that helps judicatories understand their own health, vitality and sustainability. The JVA will be available before Easter.

All three of these products exist because we believe that the way for an organization to grow is to understand strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and roadblocks. We do this by asking the people in the organization. What do you think? Are you ready to take the new quiz? Let us know at info@faithx.net.
