Our friends at Datastory will soon be releasing two new or expanded missional intelligence tools:
- Know Your Neighborhood, a snapshot report of congregational and community data, developed in collaboration with the Episcopal Church convention office and available free through a soon-to-be-launched TEC website portal.
- Neighborhood Missional Intelligence Report (NMIR), the next generation of an in depth, interactive, infographic report describing neighborhood demographic/lifestyle data and trends, developed in collaboration with FaithX and available as part of MapDash subscriptions and many FaithX consultative program.
What’s the Difference? (Purpose and Scope)
While both the Know Your Neighborhood Portal and the Neighborhood Missional Intelligence Report are excellent tools, the major difference lies between are in purpose and scope.
Purpose. The “four pillars” of location intelligence are: Visualization (seeing your data), Contextualization (exploring your data in its neighborhood context), Analysis (understand the meaning of your data in its context), and Socialization (sharing with others what you’ve learned and motivating them to action).
- Know Your Neighborhood is primarily intended to help you visualize your parochial report data, and to some extent, exploring community context.
- Neighborhood Missional Intelligence Report starts with congregational location data, then dives deeply into the neighborhood demographic and lifestyle data, pairs it with a broad selection of relevant community characteristics, along with some analysis.
It’s worth noting that various MapDash subscriptions cover even more of the Location Intelligence Pillars, with MapDash Basic and the MapDash Complete Bundle each providing progressively more in the way of Analysis and Socialization
Scope. If Know Your Neighborhood is a snapshot, then the Neighborhood Missional Intelligence Report is a collage of snapshots. It contains 40 infographic stats, each of which may be clicked or hovered over to view more detailed tables or charts.
FaithX Missional Planning Services and the Four Pillars
The four pillars of Missional Intelligence are also a helpful way of understanding the purpose and scope of the Strategic Missional Planning Services FaithX provides.
