This November, The FaithX Project will participate for the first time in #GivingTuesday with its Small Church Coaching Scholarship Fund.
#GivingTuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world. Millions of people have come together to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live. #GivingTuesday is a celebration of America’s greatest traditions: generosity, entrepreneurialism, community. #GivingTuesday gives us a way to balance the consumer orientation of Black Friday and Cyber Monday with a day dedicated to giving back. Think of #GivingTuesday is the opening day of the giving season: a reminder of the “reason for the season.”
The Small Church Coaching Scholarship Fund was instituted to provide a way for smaller congregations without continuing education funds or denominational financial assistance to provide coaching for their clergy at a cost they can afford. Faith leaders who qualify receive a partial scholarship that brings their cost for coaching down to $95 per session, subject to availability of funds. Congregation members can designate coaching scholarship donations to their own congregation’s clergy.
So mark your calendars for #GivingTuesday on November 28, and then prayerfully discern where God is calling you to give on #GivingTuesday this year. And while you’re at it, consider a donation to our Small Church Coaching Scholarship Fund (or to our general operating budget to support our work. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
